The Communications team manages all aspects of internal and external communication between the faculty and students within Capilano University. The team is often in contact with the Pacific Asia Travel Association headquarters, and they ensure that the executive team promotes and abides by the mission statement and values associated with the university, Pacific Asia Travel Association, and the United Nations World Tourism Organization. Duties include but are not limited to writing press releases and facilitating media materials.
The Events Assistant is involved with all aspects of event management including development, organization, and promotion. The Events Assistant will regularly communicate with partners and stakeholders to ensure the event will run smoothly. Upcoming events include World Tourism Day and the PATA Symposium.
The Marketing Assistant is responsible for supporting the chapter’s marketing initiatives and promoting events and new podcast episodes. The Marketing Assistant will work in collaboration with the Marketing team and the Podcast team. Duties include managing social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, and updating the social media calendar as necessary. The Marketing Assistant will also assist with maintaining the WordPress website, and create digital content using Canva.
